We have Lots and Lots of Snow!
		Well, winter is definitely in full swing! A far cry from last winter... being that snow was a rare sighting throughout most of the winter. This year we have lots and lots of snow! The middle of January brought over a foot of snow and lots of fun play for the kids.  Just before the big snow, we still had a good base for sledding. Jean, my friend and co-worker at Kehoe Realty brought her son over to go sledding with our kids, on the golf course in Sugar Springs. It didn't take long for the kids to wear us out! The hills were fast and the kids were full of energy! Even my four year old had no trouble getting up and down the hills by himself. We had a beautiful Christmas this year. I guess you could say that it was a story book beginning when we woke up that morning. The night before, we barely had any snow on the ground. When morning came, we woke up to four or five inches of fresh snow and it was still coming down. The kids were all excited about the new snow.... and of course, all of the goodies under the tree. Our morning started out fairly quiet. I heard the kids get out of their beds and quietly tip-toe into the livingroom. I could hear their excited whispers as they discovered the gifts under the tree. I could hear them sneak up to the edge of our open bedroom door as they peered in to see if there was any sign of life! We pretended that we were still asleep just to see what they would do. Then they crept back into the livingroom and whispered some more, just to sneak up to our door again. They were being so good at trying to be quiet, but I knew that they were just dying for us to get up. Finally, I gave in and got up. Jim soon followed.  We could have gotten up sooner, but it was funny watching them anticipate when we would rise. We spent the morning enjoying the kids as they played with their new toys while listening to Christmas music in the background. We munched on Christmas candy hidden in our Christmas stockings, not saving much room for breakfast. Finally we had to get ready for our travel down state to spend the rest of the day with family. January has been fairly uneventful, other than I've been staying pretty busy at work, which is great for this time of year. We've been planning a trip to Florida some time in the spring. The kids ask us just about every day, when we might be going. Of course, they are looking forward to Disney World and we are looking forward to spending fun times with the kids. It's been a long time since we've been able to set aside a week to go on a trip with the kids and almost always, we stay right within Michigan.
