| Spring is just around the corner! | ||||||||
| Just one more wintery scene of my kids in their snow fort, towards the very end of February. Next month I'm sure I will have a warmer photo to share. We built this fort on a beautiful winter day, at the cottage. It was warm enough for perfect packing snow. Actually, my mom found an old iglu block builder that I had when I was a little kid and gave it to my kids. We had a great time building the fort, but somehow I ended up doing most of the work. My daughter just directed me where to put the blocks. Late February brought in some warm weather. The last day of February was a wonderful day. It reached 52 degrees and the kids and I took advantage of the day and went for a walk. Of course, they had to walk through every puddle and run though every mini river running beside the road. At first I protested every time they stomped in a puddle, but finally I just thought, "what the heck", and let them have their fun. After all, it was a warm, wonderful day. After a while, they got more and more daring. They started stomping in deeper puddles and kicking muddy water at each other... giggling and laughing the whole time. They thought it was the funniest thing getting drenched in muddy water from head to toe. By the time we got home, they were soaked. Their boots were filled with water that I had to empty out once taken off and their socks had turned gray. But they had fun and that was most important. A couple of weeks ago my husband Jim, was invited on a fishing trip up north with his friends from work, so I decided to make a trip down state to see my family, with the kids. Of course, there is never enough time! I made it down to my parents just in time for dinner that Friday evening. On Saturday, I spent time with my parents and in the afternoon I went to visit my high school art teacher. We've remained friends all these years and I try to make a point of visiting her at least once or twice a year. After my short visit with her, I met up with a friend of mine that I used to waitress with many years ago down in Novi, MI. (YES! I used to wait tables! Where do you think I got my good people skills? LOL!). Actually, I used to work at Ruby Tuesdays in the Twelve Oaks Mall. It was a very fun place to work and out of all of the places I have ever worked in the past, I had made to most long lasting friendships there, (other than Kehoe Realty, of course!). My friend Jacky and I also make it a point to meet up for dinner at least once a year for our annual gab-fest. (Literally!) We have a way of gabbing for hours! It was nice seeing her again and catching up on what has been going on with her and the other people I used to know when I worked at Ruby Tuesdays. Other than that, I have been keeping myself quite busy at work. I've invested a lot of time in expanding my web sites. I've made up three other helpful sites targeting different types of properties. Feel free to check them out and tell me what you think: http://GladwinRealEstateAgent.com (This is my original site. I've just added a few new things to it, but the sub domains are listed below). http://WaterfrontProperty.GladwinRealEstateAgent.com (Full of aerial maps of many popular lakes in Gladwin & Clare counties) http://SugarSprings.GladwinRealEstateAgent.com (Focusing on homes, waterfront and vacant lots in Sugar Springs Resort) http://Acreage.GladwinRealEstateAgent.com (Vacant acreage search in Gladwin, Clare, Roscommon and Ogemaw Counties) In the spring, I hope to post a virtual tour of various areas of Gladwin and Clare county on my web sites. I'm waiting for the snow to go away and the leaves to come out. Well.... Until next month! Sincerely, Ivie Baker P.S. If you know of anyone who is looking to buy or sell real estate in the area, feel free to give me a call. Your satisfaction and subsequent referrals are the basis for my future business. Thanks! |
