| Fall is Here! | |||||||
| Ahhhhhh.... My favorite season! Fall! I just love this time of year! The bright colors of the trees, the smell in the air, the scenes of birds getting ready to fly south and no more mosquitoes! (Well....they're limited, anyway). This is my favorite time of the year to go for walks. It's not too hot and not to cold (yet). The photo above was taken while I was out walking state land with our puppy, Angel. She's a 5 month old Shepard pup that loves to go for walks in the woods. I took a lot of beautiful photos of the fall colors this year. We had a good year for color. I wish I could share them all with you in this letter, but they just won't fit. If you want to see a pretty slide show of the area, I did manage to put one together online with Adobe Reader. Check it out at http://www.kehoerealty.com/fall2004.pdf It's a lovely show and worth checking out. Halloween has also come and gone for another year. My husband and I took the kids trick-or-treating that Sunday. Our daughter decided to be a Little Ballerina, equipped with to-to and the slippers. Our son decided that he wanted to be a firefighter just like his Dad. He even had a name tag with the numbers 601 ½, because Dad's numbers are 601 at the fire department. We had a great time going from house to house. At first the kids were so excited that they started off running from house to house, with us barely able to keep up. Within a half an hour their pace started to slow down as they burned some of their energy. Finally we were able to keep up. By the end of the evening they were so tired that we almost had to drag them down the street to head back to the car. By the time we got back to the car, we had two bushed kids on our hands. They barely stayed awake for the ride home. Now that November is here there are many holidays and events to look forward to. My next event (I guess you could say) is deer season. Most of you already know that I hunt. If you didn't...well, now you know. I love sitting out in the woods watching the wildlife. Deer hunting isn't just about having a successful hunt....(though that is the main goal). It's also about enjoying the great outdoors. I see things that I would never see if I just sat at home. I've had deer walk within a few feet of me and never know I'm there. I've had birds land on my hat and flip under the rim to get a better look at what I was. I've had squirrels climb onto my lap and look for apples I had sitting in my blind. I've watched beaver play in their ponds and turkeys cross my path. There's nothing like sitting out in the woods on a pleasant fall day. Of course, I'm looking forward to the Holidays....seeing friends and family and eating all that good food. It's hard to believe that the holidays are so close. Stores are already getting the Christmas stuff out! It just goes by too fast. Until next month...... Sincerely, Ivie Baker P.S. If you know of anyone who is looking to buy or sell real estate in the area, feel free to give me a call. Your satisfaction and subsequent referrals are the basis for my future business. Thanks! |
